Meet the new boss, same as the old boss. Yes, it appears to me that the name has changed, but almost nothing else has.
I wasn't much of a fan of The Libertine, but a long walk from the East End left me in need of refreshment - and the facilities - so I headed in here.
And it was honestly halfway through the pint I ordered that I realised it had changed name. That's how little seems to have changed!
As such... I don't really know what else to say. Fella that served me was happy enough, if a little bit slow to realise there was a queue; my pint of Three Hop was fine. Not overly cold, not overly warm. Just, fine.
They were showing the golf on screens round the bar, and it was clean, with lots of seating and tables to be had. Maybe it's in the midst of rebranding? I don't know. I saw nothing here that would inspire me to come back anytime soon, especially with Blackfriars across the road. -

Oh man, what an absolute dump. What a shame too, because when this place was The Libertine, my guy and I went in here on our very first date. We were out one night and decided to see what this place was like, wondering if it resembled the place we once shared a life changing night together. It surely does not.
What a joke this place now is. I'm not even sure why it's still opened. First off, walking in, you're blinded by the lights that are on (we went in at night)- no mood lighting what so ever. The music is horrendous and the clientele are quite young and barely dressed. No bother, we weren't there to judge the people- we wanted drinks.
We went up to the filthy bar and had to make our way around the numerous empty glasses and booze bottles that littered the bar. It was clear that no one really cared to clean up or put any dirty dishes away to be cleaned.
Once we ordered our drinks, we decided to sit kind of in a quiet corner away from the crowds. I'll give G-Town lounge one star because they have my all time favourite bottled cider- Rekordelig Peach and Apricot. I would give them even less because the glass I was given had lipstick prints all over it and had clearly been poorly washed if at all. Not usually my style, I decided to drink from the bottle that night.
To top everything off, even the table we sat at was covered in dirty dishes and empty glasses. There were burnt out candles everywhere, and the women's toilet was a disgrace. Empty soap bottles, burnt out candles stacked on top of each other, and just over all dirty.
You couldn't pay us to come back here and I would advise you go to one of the many other awesome pubs in Merchant City if you find yourself hanging out there. -

Had a deal for 2 courses with wine for 2 . Have to say it was a very disappointing experience . Food very basic . No waiter service. All in all very poor.

Came In as we were really hungry. Had to wait for around an hour got food which was lukewarm and overcooked. Some friends were finished eating whilst others were still waiting for food to be served. Sorry to say I won't eat here again.
